“I don’t think he has X and OS” – Shawn Porter analyzes Terence Crawford’s game plan

Shawn Porter is not very impressed with current WBO welterweight champion and best pound for pound Terence Crawford. The Bud is coming out of an incredible fourth stoppage round win against former champion Kell Brook. While many hailed Crawford for his outstanding performance against a seasoned veteran like Kell Brook, Porter thought otherwise.

“Remember I asked, remember I asked him in the last one. ‘Hey yo, is there a game plan? or you will just come out there and fill it out and do what … ‘This is what I see it do. Again, if you’re preparing for a dude, if he does, I’ll do that kind of thing.

“But I don’t think he has X and O like some of us do in game planning. I think all it has is, ‘these are my X’s and these are my O’s, and let me start filling in those boxes as the fight continues’ ” Porter told FightHype while filming the latest episode of his podcast in the studio.

Shawn Porter is a former welterweight champion, having held the IBF title from 2013 to 2014 and the WBC welterweight title from 2018 to September 2019. The “Showtime” dropped the IBF belt at Kell Brook in August 2014 and is not managed to get his hands on the WBC strap against Keith Thurman.

How good was Terence Crawford against Kell Brook?

Porter is back with an emphatic win over Danny Garcia to grab the WBC welterweight title. However, he would later leave the title to Errol Spence Jr. in his second title defense. Needless to say, with just three losses in his 35 professional bouts, Porter is considered to be one of the best active welterweight fighters right now.

Porter didn’t like how Crawford walked around slowly against Kell Brook in the opening rounds. According to Porter, if Crawford is as good as he claims he is, he should have gone straight for the knockout win. Regardless, it’s easy to convey views from the outside.

Terence Crawford got off to a slow start in his fight against Kell Brook which took place last weekend, inside the MGM Grand Conference Center. However, the “Bud” quickly shifted gears and connected a brutal left hook to the body that sent Brook spiraling into the ring.

Crawford sealed the show with beautiful combinations. In the process, he landed his 37th straight win in his fourth title defense for the WBC Welterweight Championship.

Crawford continues to amaze with his enormous power and flawless boxing. It goes without saying that the “Bud” has done enough to become one of the greatest boxers of all time.
