The dispute between HCD chairman Gaudenz Domenig and controversial investor Peter Buser is entering the next round.
Recall: in 2019 Buser contractually guaranteed HC Davos a sum of CHF 11.2 million. In return, the stadium was supposed to bear the name of the Buser Foundation by 2026 and a music pavilion for concerts was to be built in front of the hall. Buser has already transferred three million of the deal. In the meantime, he wants his money back because HCD would not keep some of the terms of the contract.
As “Watson” reports, Buser is ready to give up repaying one of the three million Swiss francs. “In return, I ask a public apology from Gaudenz Domenig,” Buser asks. The 84-year-old is apparently annoyed by how Domenig said about him on TV.
The trigger was an SRF report on Buser, in which the banker, book author, poet, concert promoter and patron provided an extremely questionable picture of women. Domenig then called Buser’s statements “bireweich” and distanced himself from his contractual partner: “We do not share his image of women if I use the statements I heard in the SRF report as a benchmark.”
Domenig doesn’t want to know about Buser’s latest peace offer. “The foundation had fulfilled the contract by December 31, 2020. But so does the HCD,” says the HCD president. He insists his club doesn’t owe money to Buser or his foundation. the foundation transfers the next contractually agreed installment on January 1, 2021. “It is said to be a payment of 1,475 million francs.
