If any of you still had hopes of seeing Halo Infinite at this year’s The Game Awards, they will be disappointed, the new installment of 343 Industries will not be present at this event. Microsoft continues to work on the game as its delay has been officially announced and will show it at another time, not before the end of 2020.
Through Reddit we learned in a large post from Brian Jarrad, 343 Industries Community Director, the current situation of the game and the steps the studio is following to continue working on its development. Brian also explained that they want to deliver some powerful data from the game in the coming weeks, but it won’t be a trailer at the TGA or anything like that due to the great work it would take to do that.
Halo Infinite is doing well, but it won’t be at the Game Awards
Right now we’re still going through the huge cascade of implications and ramifications that led to procrastination, and the team is working head-on on all aspects of the game.
We have nothing planned for the TGAs, but we hope to get at least one high-level update in the coming weeks so we can start this journey together after the Christmas holidays. Preparing something for the TGA, like a demo, would take a lot of work and it would be difficult to achieve holiday goals.
I know it’s hard to wait, but the team will make the most of this extra time and we want to make sure we can do our best and work towards greater transparency on the way forward. We will arrive and resume the journey.
