How to see the launch of SpaceX in collaboration with NASA

After the long-awaited launch of SpaceX Crew-1 in collaboration with NASA was delayed yesterday due to unfavorable wind conditions, today could be the big day for Elon Musk’s company.

This will be the first operational launch of SpaceX, after carrying out its test with astronauts in May, in an event that left the world “glued” to the screens.

The launch is scheduled for midnight and thirty (00:30) today and will be broadcast live on NASA’s official YouTube channel.

Who are the astronauts who will make history with SpaceX?

SpaceX Crew-1 will carry 4 astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS), on a mission that is expected to last 6 months.

• Michael S. Hopkins – Colonel of the United States Space Force and commander of this flight. Hopkins was one of 9 astronauts selected by NASA in 2009 and has already made a trip to the ISS in 2013 and 2014. The 51-year-old astronaut is the first of the new US Space Force to go to space.
• Shannon Walker – with a PhD in Space Physics from Rice University, he studied how solar winds interact with the atmosphere of Venus. Dr Walker, 55, has already made a trip to the ISS in 2010.
• Soichi Noguchi – this is the only astronaut of the crew belonging to the JAXA (Japanese space agency), this being his third space trip. Noguchi, 55, was a member of the Discovery crew in 2005, the first launch since the Columbia rocket crash that claimed 7 lives in 2002.
• Victor Glover – selected by NASA in 2013, this will be the 44-year-old astronaut’s first space mission and will also be the first NASA black astronaut to complete a mission to the ISS.

This will be the third attempt to launch SpaceX Crew-1

The original launch of SpaceX Crew-1 in collaboration with NASA was scheduled for November 10. But due to technical problems with the Falcon 9 rocket during the launch of a Sapace Force GPS satellite on October 2, they needed to postpone the launch.

Yesterday the launch ended up not taking place due to the lack of ideal weather conditions, due to strong winds. Hopefully 3 will be SpaceX Crew-1 time.
