Leading cryptocurrency web portal Bitcoin.com has partnered with Swiss luxury watch maker, Franck Muller, to create stylish crypto-themed watches. The limited edition titanium working bitcoin watch is called “Free the Money, Free the World” and will be sold for cryptocurrency on Bitcoin.com.
In the summer of 2019, luxury watchmaker Franck Muller released a fully functional bitcoin watch called “Encrypto”, a watch that allows the user to store their digital assets in cold storage.
This year, the Geneva-based watchmaker partnered with Bitcoin.com, in order to produce another extravagant digital currency wristwatch. The beautiful watch is called “Free the Money, Free the World” and was designed by the co-founder of Bitcoin.com Mate Tokay and Tyler Gallagher of Regal Assets.
The titanium, limited edition bitcoin cash (BCH) wristwatch will sell for EUR 9,900 per unit and only 500 individually numbered timepieces will be sold.
The titanium exterior of the product is extremely durable for people with an active lifestyle. The sleek black DLC coating with green accents gives the watch a trendy metropolitan look. The wristwatch is Franck Muller’s first Bitcoin Cash watch face ever. The QR code of the watch can be customized with the buyer’s bitcoin cash (BCH) public key.
Franck Muller is known for making the most beautiful and complicated watches in the world and the gorgeous watches are worn by a myriad of celebrities. The company claims that “‘Free The Money, Free The World’ is an exciting chapter in Franck Muller’s history of modern and innovative watches.”
Bitcoin.com co-founder Mate Tokay helped design the new Franck Muller wristwatch and believes that exquisitely complicated watches combined with innovative technology like Bitcoin Cash (BCH) go hand in hand.
“It was an amazing experience working with Franck Muller’s team to design the world’s first Bitcoin Cash watch,” said Bitcoin.com’s Mate Tokay. “As a watch enthusiast, this challenge has meant a lot to me. I truly believe we have created a one-of-a-kind watch and I am flattered to say that the feedback has been great so far.”
Each watch comes with a two-piece “Deep Cold Storage” set that allows the owner to store the encryption within the public address engraved on the dial. A sealed USB containing the private key keeps the wallet safe, while the address balance can be checked using the dial. Just like all Franck Muller timepieces, the limited edition “Free the Money, Free the World” set features elegant arrangements and elaborate watchmaking machines.
“This has been an exciting project and it is beyond an honor to work with Bitcoin.com, Mate Tokay and Roger Ver on this. Let’s free the world together,” Tyler Gallagher of Regal Assets said during the announcement.
Each 41mm piece features a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and a black leather strap with green stitching. A myriad of Franck Muller watches have been worn by numerous celebrities including Kanye West, Elton John, Paris Hilton, Kim Kardashian, Lil Wayne, Floyd Mayweather, David Beckham and others.
The cryptocurrency-infused timepiece “Free the Money, Free the World” is already enjoying huge success in Hollywood, with various celebrities and well-known hip-hop artists. This includes celebrities such as rapper Young Thug, Youtube star and player Faze Banks, American singer-songwriter Kaash Paige, rapper and composer Cardi B, American singer and rapper Swae Lee, American model and social media star Jordyn Woods and hip-hop star Gunna.
