The first mask of “The Masked Singer Switzerland” has fallen. The Gams did not get enough votes from the audience and had to introduce themselves to the advisory team, consisting of Steffi Buchli (42), Luca Hänni (26) and Marc Sway (41) and the spectators.
Figure skater Denise Biellmann (57) wore the costume. Radiant and with tousled hair, she explains: “For me personally it was a highlight because I did something in a completely different direction in my career. I had to be a little brave because I know I can’t sing that well. “He assures:” I just gave it my all! “The day after the first broadcast, BLICK reached Denise Biellmann by phone on the way from Cologne (D) back to Switzerland.
LOOK: Good morning! How did you sleep tonight?
Denise Biellmann: Not so much to be honest (laughs). I was still very active after the show, getting so many texts and talking to my closest friends on the phone. Nobody knew you were on the show.
Really anyone?
My friend knew that. But no one else. To be honest, that was the hardest part, you have to lie a little bit. I hope my friends will forgive me, but it was necessary!
What excuses did you use?
I told you I have to give some lessons. My figure skating students also asked why I couldn’t teach this week, why I had to arrange a replacement. I would have liked to have told everyone.
You are the first mask to be revealed. Would you have liked to continue?
On the one hand, yes, it was a lot of fun. But I’m not a singer and I don’t have a great voice. That’s why I didn’t expect to get to the end. It was just amazing to dive into another world and bring a character like the Gams to life. I take it sportingly that I was the first to leave.
One of his clues was that you were bitten in the füdli by a baby poodle.
Oh yes, I was about nine at the time and was on vacation in St. Moritz with my parents. I had a balloon and took it down the stairs to our apartment. Then the Pudeli came and bit me in the Füdli. Since then, I’ve been afraid of dogs I don’t know.
And then you had to compete against the Saint Bernard of all places …
(laughs) Yes, that’s right.
What’s your favorite mask?
I think all the costumes are great. I don’t know why, but I particularly like Igeli. You try to pay attention to size and posture, but I have no idea who it might be.
Would you return to «The masked singer »mitmachen?
Definitely! It is the most beautiful sight there is.
