The “Crew Dragon” will take off with the help of a “Falcon 9” rocket from the Cape Canaveral spaceport in the US state of Florida and dock at the ISS a few hours later. NASA astronauts Michael Hopkins, Victor Glover and Shannon Walker, as well as Japanese astronaut Soichi Noguchi, will remain aboard the space station for 6 months. NASA astronaut Kate Rubins and her Russian colleagues Sergej Ryschikow and Sergej Kud-Swertschkow are currently present.
The newly arrived crew – “Crew-1” – is the first to be officially brought to the ISS by the “Crew Dragon” after a successful spring manned test. The two US astronauts Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley flew to the ISS in May for this test and returned in August.
