Apple HomePod mini: the average power consumption

Loudspeaker, intercom, smart assistant and, if desired, a smart home center. The Apple HomePod mini promises a lot for the price of less than 100 euros, but it must first prove itself sonically. The fact is, many households now have a lot of these smart speakers. One here, one there. The good thing: in terms of power consumption, the devices aren’t that significant anymore. But it is common knowledge that even small fish can smell. If used in a home with more than one speaker, this can increase the year. You can never give exact amounts, because it depends on the usage. However, here is a small calculation example using a HomePod mini.

In low power mode, while waiting for commands, 0.71 watts are consumed. For music, it should be an average of 1.28 watts at 50 percent volume. This is very little of what Apple says. What would that mean for the year? It is not at all important. In sleep mode this would not even be 1.75 euros, assuming a price of 28 cents per kWh. Incidentally, it would be 3.31 euros if you listen to music all year round. But as mentioned: you should never expect this, because as soon as HomePod mini acts as a control center for Smart Home, you often cross music etc, then it will also consume a little more electricity.
