A quick test that costs just one US dollar and delivers results in minutes could drastically change that with the kovid 19 test.

The Pastur Institute, located in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, is working on the development of this test. The institute says they are close to producing a cheap test that is held in the hand and gives results very quickly, in minutes.
The institute has been working on a rapid test project in collaboration with five research organizations since March.
Amadu Sal, the director of the institute, told “CNN” that the test will soon be very cheap, meaning that its price could be around one US dollar.
Like a pregnancy test
“It’s a simple technology, something like a pregnancy test, that you can use anywhere, it’s very important in Africa,” Sal said.
The rapid test developed in Dakar will require no electricity or laboratory analysis. It consists of a test strip in a plastic case and uses a blood sample that will be collected by inserting a needle into a finger, similar to rapid tests for diabetics. The blood is then tested for coronavirus-related antibodies and the results are displayed on a strip.
Testing of the prototype was tested in June and, once all regulatory checks are complete, it is expected to begin production and distribution in Africa.

“Ideally, we want to give access to these tests to the general public. But now the focus is on public health, and after that we move on to self-testing,” he added.
The goal is to deliver 10-15 million of these tests by February 2021.
