MediaTek today launched one of the cheapest 5G modem processors on the market: MediaTek Dimensity 700. It will be present on low-cost smartphones, even under $ 200.

Some specifications for MediaTek Dimensity 700:

• 2 x ARM Cortex-A76 up to 2.2 GHz and 6 x ARM Cortex-A55 up to 2.0 GHz;
• Mali-G57 MC2 graphics accelerator clocked at 950 MHz;
• support for LPDDR4x RAM up to 12GB;
• ISO capable of supporting main cameras up to 64 Megapixel or 16 + 16 Megapixel;
• enables 4K video recording at 30fps and is capable of decoding 4K content at 30fps and 1080p at 120fps in H.264 and H.265;
• support for displays with a resolution of up to 2520 x 1080 pixels, 90 Hz and 21: 9 aspect ratio;
• integrated 5G modem supporting dual-sim 5G, two-carrier aggregation technology (2CC AC), autonomous and non-autonomous networks in frequency bands below 6 GHz;
• Wi-Fi ac, bluetooth 5.1, GPS, Glonass, Beidou, Galileo;
• performed on a 7 nm lithography process.

MediaTek usually announces a processor when it is already in mass production, so we expect the first phones with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 on board to launch in a few days.
