MADRID, 11 November (Portaltic / EP) –
MediaTek has expanded its processor catalog with its own new Dimensity 700 mobile chips, providing 5G support to mid-range devices, and also announced its new processors for Chromebook, MT8192 and MT8195.
MediaTek’s new Dimensity 700 chip uses seven nanometer lithography and has eight cores, two of them Arm Cortex-A76, which allow it to operate at up to 2.2 GHz potency, as reported by the manufacturer in a statement.
The processor, which targets mid-range and mid-range devices, supports 5G carrier aggregation (2CC 5G-CA) and use of dual SIM with 5G in ‘standby’. It includes technologies such as UltraSave, which allows you to reduce energy consumption when using 5G through dynamic network discovery.
Furthermore, Dimensity 700 can be used on mobile phones with view specifications up to a refresh rate of 90 hertz, FullHD + resolution and with multiple camera systems with 48 and 64 MP main lenses and image artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities such as night or beauty modes, as well as multi-frame noise removal and integration with voice assistants from Alibaba, Amazon, Baidu, Google and Tencent.
MT8192 AND MT8195 FOR COMPUTER
MediaTek also unveiled new processor models for the next generation of laptops Range of “premium” and affordable Chromebooks, the MT8192 and MT8195 chips.
MT8192 is the entry-level model of the new family, designed with seven nanometer lithography, and caters to generalist products, while the MT8195 processor caters to high-end laptops when using nodes six nanometers.
MediaTek’s new Chromebook chips feature a high performance AI processing unit (APU), which enables user identification through speech, face and object recognition, speech-to-text transcription, real-time translations, and background suppression of images and noise.
For the use of voice commands, both processors have the extension digital signal processor (DSP) which allows the activation of voice recognition and activation commands of digital assistants in low power consumption mode.
The new MT8192 and MT8195 allow image specifications with cameras up to 80 MP in four-cell configurations, 32MP single or dual lens with two 16MP sensors, plus support for HDR video thanks to the use of an image signal processor.
As for the processing power, MT8195 has eight cores, four of which are high-performance Arm Cortex-A78 and four more Arm Cortex-A55 to improve energy efficiency. It can reach up to 4 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) of computing power.
Furthermore, the MT8195 model uses the graphics unit (GPU) Arm-Mali G57 and support for four-channel LPDDR4X RAM up to 2133MHz, allowing you to connect up to three displays to your computer at the same time. It also includes Dolby Vision 7.1 certification and AV1 video codec.
For its part, the processor for Cheap Chromebook MT8192 integrates eight cores, four of which are Arm Cortex-A76 and four more Arm Cortex-A55 to combine performance and energy efficiency. Its specs are rounded out with up to 2.4 TOP, Arm Mali-G57 graphics, UFS 2.1 storage, LPDDR4x memory up to 2,133 MHz and up to dual screens.
Chromebook with the processor MT8192 will hit the market in the second quarter of 2021While in the case of MT8195, they will come later in Chromebooks, smart displays, tablets and other premium class smart devices.
