The champions of Venezuela and Panama will animate the opening game of the Caribbean Series 2021 which will be held between January 31 and February 6 at the Teodoro Mariscal stadium in Mazatlán, Mexico.

The day will include matches between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico novenas, and the closing match of Colombia and the Mexican hosts, according to the Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (Cbpc).

The calendar of the nicknamed “Little World Series” will continue on February 1st with the clashes between Panama and Colombia; Venezuela and Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic with Mexico, whose team will always play at the last minute because it is the host country for that version.

The teams will continue to compete until February 5, when the semifinals of the teams that have occupied the first and fourth place and those that have finished the second and third position will be played.

The Caribbean Series champion team will be the winner of the clash that on February 6 will face the teams that have passed the semifinals.

Toros del Este, from the Dominican Republic, is the monarch of the last series, played in Puerto Rico last February and which represented the twentieth championship for that country.

The Confederation of Professional Baseball of the Caribbean, chaired by Dominican Juan Francisco Puello Herrera, has not yet decided whether Mazatlán’s Caribbean Series will be played with an audience in the stands.
