Yesterday, Sunday, Minister of Health and Population Dr Hala Zayed held a press conference to announce the latest developments in the emerging coronavirus pandemic and the state’s readiness to address the spread of the second wave within the period of winter.
During the conference, the minister stressed that the ministry is ready to face the second wave of the Coronavirus, which will not be more dangerous than the first – as described, and that health has taken all precautionary measures and continues to apply them.
Zayed explained that among the precautionary measures that have been announced: Reduces occupancy by half before the start of the second wave and closure for a period of 3 days is the penalty for places that do not comply with the precautionary measures, confirming that there is a sufficient balance of drugs and medical supplies to address Corona, updating the Corona treatment protocol and issuing the fourth version in a few days, as well as continuing to provide care services for patients even with increased coronal injuries.
As for the rumors about the closure of schools amid a growing number of injuries, the Minister of Health confirmed that there is no intention to close schools, stressing that the Ministry intends to deal with cases of contagion.
He noted that the entry into the winter season and the increased possibility of exposure to the roles of the flu will lead to the spread of the Corona virus, predicting an increase in the number of infections and deaths by December, January and February.
Zayed revealed that most cases of HIV infection occur in the Cairo, Alexandria and Giza governorates, especially the regions (Helwan, East Nasr City, Sharabia, Awseem, Al Warak and Bulaq).
And he noted that workers in exposed sites such as the farmer and the driver are less likely to be infected with Corona, while housewives and retirees are the most vulnerable groups, as 65% of Corona patients live in homes without ventilation.
At the end of the conference, the Minister of Health published a series of guidelines to fight infections. Dove stressed the need to wear a non-colored mask, physically move away, work from home and from afar “online”, and follow precautionary measures to prevent the virus.
