Boca Juniors got their second win in the Professional League Cup of Argentina. Miguel Ángel Russo’s team easily defeated Newell’s Old Boys at the Marcelo Bielsa stadium in Rosario. The 0-2 were scored by Carlos Tevez and Lisandro López.

The current Argentine champion had the 4 Colombians of the team as titles. Frank Fabra, Jorman Campuzano, Edwin Cardona and Sebastián Villa started in Rosario, with exceptional performances, especially the Antioquia winger in the second half. It generated 3 clear goal options, two were stopped by goalkeeper Ramiro Macagno and the other from half distance who passed close to the right post.

Tevez opened the scoring in the 41st minute after a nice assist from Eduardo Salvio who left him hand in hand with the goalkeeper. The second and last was Lisandro López header in the 76th minute from Edwin Cardona’s corner at the first stick.

Frank Fabra could have scored a mid-range goal in the 54th minute, but his shot crashed into the crossbar. The left-back didn’t have as many projections to attack as he usually does. Jorman Campuzano, the fourth Colombian, was tidy and safe in its brand function. Cardona and Villa were replaced simultaneously (88 ‘) by Diego González and Mauro Zarate.

Xeneize has 6 points and is the leader of group 4. Newell’s is last with no units and a goal difference of -4. The other two teams in that area are Talleres and Lanús, who will meet this Monday at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium in Córdoba.

Three Colombians to the selection

Fabra, Campuzano and Cardona travel to Colombia for the qualifying matches against Uruguay and Ecuador on 13 and 17 November respectively. Villa was on the list of players blocked by Carlos Queiroz but ultimately did not make it into the final list of 24.
