The rumors and hopes of fans have been circulating for a long time, now it’s official: Bioware has announced a remaster of the Mass Effect trilogy. Under the name of Legendary Edition the company will re-release the three games including all DLCs. However, the new version is not a true remake. Instead, the games are only graphically revised and optimized for 4k Ultra HD.
Fans don’t have to wait too long before Mass Effect: Legendary Edition appears. EA and Bioware have not yet announced a precise date, but with spring 2021 there is already an approximate period. The edition will be available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Playstation 4 and Playstation 5. A price is not yet known.
In addition, the developers of Bioware also revealed that the work on the next chapter of Mass effect they started. However, this game is still in an early stage, so development should be a few years away. The Mass Effect trilogy included Mass Effect: Andromeda already to offer a sequel. However, this only met with mixed reactions from many players and failed to keep up with the original trilogy in terms of quality.
