PlayStation 5 games cannot be moved to external drives

[ad_1]

Yesterday we revealed here how to pass the contents of a file PlayStation 4 for PlayStation 5, and as you may have noticed, it is possible to use those external drives that we have from our PS4, full of games, on PS5. However, only PS4 games can be on the external drive, as all games “designed and prepared” for PS5 must be on the SSD.

Although it has now been confirmed, that’s no surprise, as SSD has always been a highlight of this new console. And that’s the opposite of the new Xbox Series S | X, which allows you to install a next-generation game directly on the external drive. But as we know, external storage has much lower performance than new SSDs and therefore its performance will be far from desirable and will delay game launches and lengthen uploads.

And Sony also confirmed this week that the PS5 will not support expandable SSD storage at launch, with the feature set to be activated via a system update, which will be made available in the future.

The PlayStation 5 release date is set for November 12 in the US, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea, while the rest of the world will receive the console on November 19.
Furthermore, Sony has confirmed that all sales of its new console will have to take place online and this means that there will be no consoles on store shelves.
