A LinkedIn profile reveals that Sony is investing $ 50 million in a “new PC business”. The question arises as to how the money will be used. Sony may want to have a piece of the PC pie too.
Microsoft no longer makes major differences between Xbox and PC. The Game Pass offering is largely identical and nearly all first-party titles appear on both platforms at launch. Presumably, Sony will continue to step up its efforts to bring games to PC. This is also indicated by a LinkedIn profile that talks about a “new $ 50 million PC business”. This is not surprising, as the PC has become much more important to the gaming industry in recent years.
PlayStation games have a second life on the PC
Of course Sony has a completely different business model than Microsoft, which is already firmly connected to the PC via Windows. However, the huge community is one way to increase sales. One option is to release games that have been exclusive to Playstation for a while and no longer generate sales on their hardware. Examples like Death Stranding and Persona 4 Golden have recently shown that PC gamers take even older titles with a kiss.
