Recently, Nokia has entered into brand licensing agreements with several companies. The latest company to sign such an agreement with the Finnish company is StreamView GmbH. This Austrian company is now officially authorized by Nokia to market smart TVs, TV Boxes and DAB + radios in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The first product launched by this company is called Nokia Streaming Box 8000 and is manufactured by SEI Robotics.
Specifications
The new TV Box integrates a quad-core Amlogic S905X3 processor and Mali-G31 MP2 GPU. Unfortunately, the amount of RAM is not known at the moment, but at least 2GB is expected. The streaming device has WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 connection, as well as a variety of ports: USB A 3.0, USB C, Ethernet, HDMI, optical audio, AV.
Nokia Streaming Box 8000 supports 4K playback, but the specs reveal nothing about Dolby Vision / Atmos. It should receive HDR10 support at least, as the integrated chipset is capable.
The new Nokia device runs the Android TV 10 operating system and comes with Netflix and Amazon Prime pre-installed. The other video applications can be installed individually via the Google Play Store. Last but not least, the media player comes with built-in Chromecast and a voice-controlled remote provided by Google Assistant.
The price for Nokia Streaming Box 8000 is 100 euros and will go on sale before Christmas in several European countries. The package will include the TV box, remote control, charger and an HDMI cable.
