According to The Verge, game company Epic Games is launching a promotion that offers players a two-month free subscription to the Disney + streaming service if they spend real money on the Fortnite game.
The offer covers all expenses made from November 6 to the end of 2020, although only on November 10 will players be able to apply for a subscription.
Codes expire January 31, 2021. This Fortnite promotion and free Disney + membership is not available in any country. It is limited to 21 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and most of Europe (France is a glaring exception).
In Germany, the free subscription to this service will only last for one month and existing Disney + users are not eligible. It is important to remember that users will have to pay for the streaming service after the free period, if they don’t cancel.
Disney is turning its attention to streaming and a promo in one of the most beloved games (especially a game like Fortnite with Marvel ties) could increase its subscriber count.
The second season of The Mandalorian will also help increase the number of subscribers to Disney + streaming. Meanwhile, for the game company Epic Games, this free membership promotion is a way to engage Fortnite players, as its dispute with Apple in the US could limit its player audience.
What do you think of the partnership between Epic Games and Disney +, after which Fortnite players will be able to win a free subscription to the streaming service?
