Windows 10 is full of tools everywhere, but many of the existing tools aren’t enough for professionals. You’ll find 74 smart tools in Microsoft’s Sysinternals suite to scan Windows to the last corner. They show every detail about autostart, running programs, file system or network traffic.
And that’s how it works: the Sysinternals suite is just a 35MB ZIP folder that you need to unzip. You will then find all the tools provided in the folder. None of the tools require installation, so you can just copy them to a USB stick and take them with you. Warning: Each tool can be started safely, but you should first find out what the individual tools do. Programs run deep into the system and can cause problems if handled incorrectly.
With this update for Sysinternals Suite, four of the included tools have received an update:
- Using disk 1.62: The hard disk tool is now also available for ARM64 and the MAX_PATH limitation has been removed.
- VMMap 3.31: The software is used for virtual memory management of processes. A bug in Windows 10 has been fixed in the new version.
- AD Explorer 1.50: Active directories can be viewed and edited with AD Explorer. Now you can export the data from the comparison dialog and the tool is now also available in a 64-bit version and for ARM64.
- Sysmon 12.02: Sysmon is a powerful Windows system monitoring tool. In the new version it can also monitor the clipboard and help determine the IP addresses of RDP attackers.
Below you will find the most important Sysinternals tools with a short functional description.
