More than 5,800 vaccine doses were applied this Saturday, 07/11, during the strategy to expand the coverage of the polio and multivaccination campaign and step up the fight against measles. Between 8:00 and 24:00, the city of Rio kept 234 primary care network units (family clinics and municipal health centers) open, as well as 28 extra stations set up in different parts of the city.
1,461 doses of the polio vaccine – the famous droplet – were applied to children between the ages of one and five. Of the routine vaccines of the multivaccination campaign, 3,732 doses were applied, 3,160 of which were in children between the ages of zero and six.
Measles vaccination has reached 648 people aged six months to 60 years or older. The age group that most frequented the places to be vaccinated against the disease was between 15 and 49 years: 507 young people and adults were immunized.
The Municipal Health Secretariat informs that all vaccines are still available in the 237 Primary Care Units (family clinics and municipal health centers)
