If 2-3 years ago Samsung was one of the most underrated hardware manufacturers when it came to software updates, South Koreans have recovered and are now capable of such pleasant surprises.

Several users have confirmed this received on their old 9.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 security update in October 2020. Even though the device stopped running Android 7.0 Nougat, Samsung continued to constantly provide security updates for this model. Officially we have no information, but it seems that Samsung is still paying attention to this model because it is used by many industrial companies and not only, so until the renewal of the tablets, the South Korean company makes a small exception.

It is important to remember that this update is only valid for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 model updated in April 2016 with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor. The original version was released with the Exynos 5433 octa-core processor, but it’s not on the priority list.

Full specifications for the updated version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2:

  • 9.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2048 × 1536 pixels;
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, microSD card slot up to 128GB;
