This is what Windows XP remixed system music sounds like
A DJ thought of remixing Microsoft’s Windows XP OS startup music in the US. The remix created by that DJ can be heard on SoundCloud, at the bottom of this page.
Windows XP, Microsoft’s operating system that some people and companies are not yet willing to give up, even though it would be recommended, can still make a contribution to the world, aside from the occasional malware outbreak.
While not as celebrated as Windows 95 so far, for example, Microsoft’s Windows XP system in the US will remain emblematic in popular culture, having been around for nearly two decades.
That’s why ROMderful’s “artist, producer and DJ” felt the need to use the startup music (composed by Bill Brown) from this US operating system in the US and turn it into an R&B song.
The musician previously paid homage to system errors with one of his music projects, but the new project is more prone to nostalgia. This DJ isn’t the only person inspired by that piece of music.
A remix of this piece of music resulted in a JRPG soundtrack that went viral. And on YouTube and SoundCloud, music remixes are essentially their own genre.
But this DJ’s remix is more interesting than most of the previous remixes. If you want to go back to a time when Microsoft’s Windows XP operating system in the US had a monopoly, you can listen to the resulting Microsoft Windows XP remix below.
What do you think of the remix created by that DJ based on Microsoft’s Windows XP OS startup music in the US?
