The events took place this Friday and resulted in 3 deaths and 3 injuries.
Rapper King Von was one of three killed in a shooting outside a nightclub in Atlanta, Georgia earlier this Friday, according to local authorities cited by AP.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said 26-year-old Dayvon Bennett, also known as “King Von”, left the club and headed to another venue, accompanied by several friends. Two people approached in the parking lot and the discussion between the two groups quickly led to an exchange of gunshots. Meanwhile, police officers arrived on the scene. It was established that, during the group altercation and meeting with the officers, 6 people were killed. Bennett and two men died, three others were injured and are currently hospitalized.
The Atlanta Police Department said it wasn’t their agents who killed the rapper. “Right now, our investigators believe Bennett was shot during the initial shooting between the two groups, before police responded and attempted to stop the shooting,” the body’s statement read. Police added that investigations are ongoing and charges are expected against the two detained suspects.
Musical career
King Von’s musical career began in 2018 when he released the single “Crazy Story”. Last month he released the album “Welcome to O-Block,” which featured appearances by other artists including Moneybagg Yo, Polo G and Lil Durk. “He was a devoted father, a deeply loyal friend and a man who cared for his people before himself,” reads the statement from his press officer.
