Boris Becker sells a million dollar mansion in his hometown of Leimen. The ad can be found on relevant real estate websites. A detail in the sale makes you sit down and take note.

Boris Becker was born in quiet Leimen. The city of 70,000 inhabitants in northwestern Baden-Württemberg is proud of its famous honorary citizen. When Becker won Wimbledon in 1985, he was greeted in front of an enthusiastic crowd and escorted around town in a car parade.

In the city on the Rhine valley everyone knows Boris Becker and everyone knows where his mother Elvira lives. Becker grew up in an apartment building on the outskirts of the city. His mother now lives “higher up the mountain”, as the “Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung” wrote two years ago in a “search for clues” on the occasion of Boris Becker’s 50th birthday.

That house is now for sale. An “exclusive villa overlooking the Rhine valley” is offered on various German real estate websites. RTL and “Bild” report that the property is owned by Boris Becker. According to information from t-online, this is correct. Although the real estate agent Antje Bothe did not confirm this when asked and merely stated: “I have an agreement with the client that I will not comment on”.

Also in the “Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung” there are clear images that Boris Becker, according to the description, shows in front of the “house of Mother Elvira”. They correspond to the advertised motifs that can be found on the sales portals.

There the house is offered for a purchase price of 1.97 million euros. According to the announcement the villa has a living area of ​​449 sq m, the whole property is 825 sq m. A detail in the property data is interesting. The house, built in 1990, is to be sold only on condition that a “right of residence for life” is maintained. If this is intended for Boris Becker’s mother Elvira, who is now 85, it’s not explicitly mentioned in the ad – the entire ad is anonymous.

Boris Becker is currently in court in London. A bankruptcy court had declared the three-time Wimbledon winner insolvent in June 2017 due to unpaid debts. There is now a case against Becker because he is said to have hidden assets. The trial is expected to begin on September 13 next year and last up to four weeks. The former tennis star faces up to seven years in prison.
