In terms of chat applications, WhatsApp is considered to be one of the safest alternatives in the AppStore and Google Play stores, being also one of the first online chat platforms that introduced encryption of all messages.
While not everyone needs that many “layers” of security, it’s good to know that personal data and private conversations are better protected.
The developers of the application have introduced a new feature, which will reach all users in the coming weeks. “Disappearing Messages” is intended to help those who feel they need even more protection and allows them to select an option that will automatically delete any messages they send after a 7-day period, notes Ubergizmo.
This new feature won’t affect conversations that happened before it was activated in any way, but it’s not as easy as it sounds. To work, both participants in the conversation must have the “Disappeared messages” option enabled. Otherwise, it will have no effect.
To access the new feature, you need to make sure you are using the latest version of the app.
