Before The Mandalorian season 2 hits Friday afternoon on Disney + Hotstar (and Friday midnight on Disney + in the US), Disney and Lucasfilm have provided us with an official 89-second recap of The Mandalorian season 1. It’s very short, but it’s about the fact that The Mandalorian wasn’t a narratively heavy show making its debut last year.

Mandalorian season 1 recap touches on Mando’s (Pedro Pascal) profession (he’s a bounty hunter), his new target (Baby Yoda), the people he meets along the way – Cara Dune (Gina Carano), Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), and Kuiil (voiced by Nick Nolte) – and the consequences of his decision to bring Baby Yoda under his wing.
“You have something I want. It means more to me than you will ever know, “says dark saber villain Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) in The Mandalorian’s first season recap, as we’re given a reminder of the action-packed side of the Star Wars series. Gideon then declares, “He’ll be mine.”
The recap of the first season concludes with the creation of the second season of The Mandalorian, as the leader of the tribe The Armourer (Emily Swallow) orders Mando to reunite Baby Yoda “with his kind”. Mando asks: “Do you expect me to look for this creature’s home in the galaxy?” Well yes, otherwise what would we do in the second season, Mando.
In addition to Pascal, Carano, Weathers and Esposito, the second season of The Mandalorian also stars Omid Abtahi as Dr. Pershing, Horatio Sanz as Mythrol, Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Katee Sackhoff as Bo -Katan Kryze, Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, Timothy Olyphant as ex-slave Cobb Vanth, Michael Biehn as a rival bounty hunter and Sasha Banks in a secret role.
Jon Favreau (The Lion King, Iron man) created The Mandalorian and serves as the showrunner and lead writer of the Star Wars series. Favreau and Weathers are among the directors of the second season along with Dave Filoni, Rick Famuyiwa, Bryce Dallas Howard, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez.
Mandalorian’s second season will premiere on October 30 on Disney + Hotstar in India. The episodes will air weekly.
