The new trackball costs 50 euros

With the Ergo M575, Logitech has introduced a new trackball. It’s a cheap alternative to the MX Ergo, which currently changes hands for around 70 euros and has a recommended price of 110 euros. Compared to the ten-year-old M570, Bluetooth Low Energy invites you to connect to Mac, iPad and PC. Alternatively, the Ergo M575 can also be operated via a USB receiver that broadcasts over the 2.4 GHz network. The manufacturer specifies the operating time of the supplied AA battery in 24 months when using the receiver.

Logitech sees the advantage of a trackball in the fact that you don’t have to move your arm to control the cursor. This way the hand and forearm should remain relaxed even after hours of use. The angled scroll wheel leaves your fingers in a natural position. A trackball is also ideal for smaller work areas. Since you only move your fingers, you can position the Ergo M575 freely.

From 50 euros at the manufacturer, trade later

As the mouse pointer moves over the trackball, apart from that, the quirks of a mouse remain. In addition to the mouse wheel, the two main buttons are also available. There are also two smaller additional buttons on the left. Button assignments and mouse pointer speed can be determined by Logitech options software. The sensor should resolve 400 to 2,000 DPI.

According to the manufacturer, the plastic parts of the ERGO M575 are partly made of post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR): 50% for the graphite version and 21% for the white model. According to Logitech, the Ergo M575 now changes hands via the in-house graphite and white-gray shop for just under $ 50. The rodent should also be available in regular stores, but only from January 2021. Golem has already tested the Ergo M575 and has come to a positive conclusion.
