Citizens enrolled in Leiria Municipality Health Centers, aged 65 and over, who receive free seasonal flu vaccination, can now be vaccinated in county pharmacies.

Users, as long as they have the SNS (National Health Service) identification number, can freely choose the pharmacy in which to administer the vaccine.

The provision arises from the participation of the Municipality of Leiria in the “Local SNS Vaccination” program, with the aim of “safeguarding and safeguarding the health of the population, minimizing the risk of new lines of contagion in view of the evolution of the epidemiological situation caused by COVID-19 pandemic “and decongest access to health centers, informs Câmara de Leiria in a press release.

To this end, a protocol has been signed between the Municipality and the Dignitude Association, a Private Institution of Social Solidarity which provides for a contribution of 11,250 euros for the administration of the flu vaccine to a total of five thousand residents in community pharmacies.

This is one of 34 new measures the municipality announced last week to counter the risk of contagion.
