16 ” MacBook Pro hit by MacBook Air with M1 in the benchmark

The new M1 SoC appears to be Apple’s solution to stop relying on any computer manufacturer. The brand has designed and created this processor from the ground up, to suit what users need and their machines can offer.

If all the equipment already presented has benefited from the change, the MacBook Air seems to be the one that has improved the most. The new M1 offers new processing capabilities and certainly places it on a unique level. The results put it above what the 16-inch MacBook Pro offers.

MacBook Air evaluated in benchmark tests
Unveiled this week, Apple's M1 SoC is already equipping a line of computers from different brands.  We are talking about MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and Mac mini, which have been chosen to receive this novelty and show the market what it is capable of.
With the M1 almost on the market, the first benchmark test results now appear on these machines.  Those found reveal a reality that proves Apple's bet was accurate and that this processor is different, on the bright side.

M1 has already beaten more powerful models
The Geekbench 5 results show that the new MacBook Air scores 1,687 points in the single-core test and 7,433 points in the multi-core test.  These figures, when compared to the 16-inch MacBook Pro's i9 processor, reveal a big difference.
Intel's i9 is still one of the most powerful processors on the market today, but it's losing ground.  The score of this Apple proposal reaches 1,096 points in the single-core test and 6,870 points in the multi-core test in the same test.  This difference shows the performance difference between 2.

Apple shows that its SoC will dominate
Likewise, and for comparison only, these M1 and MacBook Air results are on par with another Apple proposition.  We are talking about the Mac Pro, which in the tests carried out managed to get 7,989 points in the multi-core test and 1,024 points in the single-core test.
The benchmark tests also revealed that this SoC has a 3.20 GHz clock speed and is equipped with 8 GB of RAM.  These values ​​are promising for the M1 and especially the MacBook Air, which thus receives a very large performance upgrade.
