Of this number, 478 people are considered cured, the same number as the day before. If we add 11 deaths, there are 106 active coronavirus cases currently in Bas-Saint-Laurent, an increase of 10.
The new cases today come from the MRCs of Matanie (7), Matapedia (1), Rivière-du-Loup (1) and Kamouraska (1).
The MRC des Basques still has 10 cases since the start of the pandemic. The number of hospitalizations linked to the coronavirus rises from one to three. 592 screenings were held on Thursday.
Three health workers infected in Matanie
The CISSS du Bas-Saint-Laurent reports that three health care workers have tested positive for COVID-19 in relation to the outbreaks in retirement homes in Matanie. Two cases are linked to the outbreak of the Résidence des Bâtisseurs and another to the Résidence des Sages. The good news is that there are no other cases between residents and users and that all the other facilities under regional public health surveillance are stable, namely the FMG of Rimouski, the CHSLD de Matane and the Residence Belle-Mère de Sainte-Félicité .
The Résidence des Bâtisseurs now has 81 coffers and that of the Sages 12.
Overview of the Basques
The Saint-Clément Fire Safety Service would like to give you a reminder about home safety. For those who have not taken the opportunity of the time change to replace the batteries of domestic smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, this is the opportunity to do so. Due to the current situation and for public health reasons, the Caserne 48 team will not pay a home visit this season. Firefighters therefore warmly invite citizens to check fire extinguishers, heaters and smoke detectors this year. A smoke detector should be replaced every 10 years. If it is damaged or dusty or does not emit a signal after replacing the batteries, replace it. Never exceed the suggested date.
