Gemini becomes mobile, launches the Crypto app

Tuesday morning, in a continuous scam in the encrypted markets, Gemini based in New York unexpectedly sent a surprising announcement to his retinue and his customers. In a blog post, co-founder and CEO Tyler Winklevoss explained that his upstart would introduce an internal mobile platform linked to its flagship product: the famous Gemini Exchange.

Starting today, users of the platform, often praised as one of Coinbase's main competitors, will be able to download the so-called "Gemini mobile app" on iOS and Google Play. The application, which combines similar initiatives from Binance, Coinbase and Poloniex, will presumably serve as an ecosystem for the purchase and sale of cryptocurrency, a portfolio tracker, a supplier of price alerts and a pseudo-portfolio.

The new Gemini program will also facilitate a feature called "Buy The Cryptoverse", which like the Coinbase package and similar vehicles, allows operators to issue purchase / sale orders for baskets for all cryptocurrencies listed on Gemini, weighted by the relative market capitalization .

According to Google Play, since the application was released about seven hours ago (at the time of writing), it was downloaded "500+" times. It remains to be seen whether the upstart raid into the mobile realm will gain traction from Bitcoin enthusiasts.

Regardless of this, this enterprise descends from Gemini and, in turn, from the unstoppable drive towards innovation in the Winklevoss Twins cryptosphere, seeing this nascent asset class as the "future of money". Tyler Winklevoss, a Harvard graduate, known for his involvement in the controversial case Mark Zuckerberg / Facebook, wrote:

We started our mission to build the future of money creating an authorized cryptocurrant exchange and custody that allows our customers to buy, sell and store cryptocurrency securely, securely and securely. A reliable and regulated platform, however, is only the beginning. The future of money is both digital is mobile, and now Gemini is also with the launch of the Gemini Mobile App!

The industry insider has closed the inaugural product announcement claiming that Gemini, which calls itself "the most reliable cryptocurrency platform in the world", will now be available "on hand" at the consumer level.

The news of this mobile application arrives a few days after the platform focused on the United States launched support for Bitcoin Cash (BCH), following its controversial hard fork in mid-November, as reported previously by Ethereum World News.

Winklevoss Twins: "We are completely at home [Crypto] Winter"

As news broke down on the launch of the product, Bloomberg published a piece outlining an interview he had with the prominent twins, who are reportedly acquiring the 1% of all Bitcoin (BTC) circulating after their multimillion-dollar settlement with Mark Zuckerberg. Tyler said that "we are completely at home in the winter", underlining the growing feeling that cryptographic and blockchain technologies are in the midst of a break of many months, as evidenced by the sad performance of BTC.

Yet, like the venture capital legend Tim Breyer, the twins seemed calm, adding that the tumult of the 2018 market allowed the Gemini to "build internally, perfect and breathe". The two continued to elaborate their plans for 2019, arguing that attracting users to their mobile app will be a priority. The duo Winklevoss added that "many of their decisions" were dictated by retail, contrary to the sentiment that Gemini is a platform for institutional players. As such, the Gemini chiefs then noted that they intend to make an incursion into the Asian Bitcoin market in 2019, with the hope of obtaining its competing crypts in Bitfinex, Digifinex and Huobi.

In short, Tyler, speaking on behalf of his brother and himself, told Bloomberg:

We are in this for the long haul … We think it is a space that is here to stay
