The World Health Organization has announced that Europe is the “new epicenter” of the coronavirus epidemic.
WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus held a meeting using the method of videoconferencing.
Ghebreyesus told the meeting that the largest number of cases worldwide was reached last week.
Stating that everyone should do their best to protect healthcare workers, Ghebreyesus said every precaution should be taken personally to reduce the risk of transmission of the virus.
In his speech at the meeting, WHO Emergency Program Director Mike Ryan said that 1 in 3 coronavirus deaths have been recorded in Europe. Ryan said:
