At the end of October, we learned that around 348 million smartphones were sold globally in the third quarter of 2020, with the top 3 being Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi.

• iPhone 11 – about 16.2 million units;
• iPhone SE – about 10.2 million units;
• Samsung GALAXY A21s – about 10.1 million units;
• Samsung GALAXY A11 – about 9.9 million units;
• Samsung GALAXY A51 – about 8 million units;
• Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 / Redmi 10X 4G – about 6.4 million units;
• Xiaomi Redmi 9 – about 5.8 million units;
• Samsung GALAXY A31 – about 5.8 million units;
• Xiaomi Redmi 9A – about 5.7 million units;
• Samsung GALAXY A01 Core – about 5 million units.

I guess it makes no sense to talk about profitability, Samsung and Xiaomi generally sell cheap models, while Apple, even if it sells the cheapest phones in its portfolio, still has ten times more earnings than the others.
