A bright future for the Call of Duty franchise
In a press release, the Activison details revealed that will be added soon in the franchise call of Duty, from or battle royal Warzone, up to its recent main series Modern Warfare is Black Ops Cold War. The news starts on November 13, with the launch of Black Ops Cold War and integration with the Warzone mode.
The first season will bring a synchronized and universal player progression that works between Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare, and Warzone. The progression of Black Ops Cold War builds on a familiar and Modern Warfare-like path, incorporating an innovative and prestigious system that offers more challenges and content than the player can get.
Black Ops Cold War will be released with an updated player progression system. At first, players will complete the military ranks on a traditional journey to unlock functional elements of the game. They will then enter a new tier system for the season that begins at the launch of the preseason game and will be in sync with all three games at the start of the first season.
At the launch of the first season in December, the ways to earn XP and level up will be shared between the three Call of Duty titles: Black Ops Cold War, Modern Warfare and Warzone. This progression system will allow you to level up in all three games, regardless of which game you play.
- Player progression begins: ranks and military modes
- Check the headquarters menu in each game for updates – their enlisted ranks (levels 1-55) are now known as military ranks. These will be synchronized between the three games (launch for Black Ops Cold War players and in the first season for Modern Warfare and Warzone players).
- This universal progression system means you can level up (and earn XP) no matter what title you’re playing!
- Advance in the usual way by playing in multiplayer mode, completing challenges (in Black Ops Cold War or Modern Warfare) and Warzone matches.
- Additionally, Black Ops Cold War Zombies also shares this same progression. So you can level up no matter how you play!
- Reset player progression
- To synchronize the player’s progression across all three games, his initial (military) rank will be reset in Modern Warfare and Warzone at the start of the first season of Black Ops Cold War. This reset will be in sync with your progression level in Black Ops Cold War. when the first season starts.
- Don’t worry, only your XP will be restored; everything you previously unlocked remains available (like weapons, perks, and losses in Modern Warfare, for example).
- Player progression continues: Prestige level of the season
- Your season progression is now known as the Season Level, which incorporates a prestigious level system. These are synchronized between the three games.
- As you begin your progression, expect an updated interface for this system.
- The progression has been updated with aspects of the traditional Prestige system, allowing players to unlock and use rewards, including some incredibly cool items from the world of Black Ops!
- Leveling up in Black Ops Cold War, Warzone, or Modern Warfare matters to your prestige level and season level.
- The best way to earn Prestige is to play Black Ops Cold War, thanks to gameplay-focused challenges of Black Ops Cold War, XP events, and other seasonally planned perks.
- Warzone shares weapon progression with Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare
- Choose a weapon available in Black Ops Cold War or Modern Warfare and use it in Warzone.
- All XP and levels count in both Warzone and the original weapon game.
- Invest in unlocking weapons and accessories for any weapon of your choice in any title, playing that game or Warzone.
- What about the basic weapons that exist in Black Ops Cold War and Modern Warfare? Expect to be able to access separately available basic weapons, with the specific logo for each game indicating where it is available, as well as the weapon level progression.
- As Season 1 begins, the perks, lethal gear, tactical gear, field upgrades, and casualty streaks specific to Modern Warfare will remain in Warzone.
- Modern Warfare players can rest assured; current plans are to keep all Modern Warfare weapons you’ve progressed in, along with any unlocked items (such as Damascus or Obsidian camos).
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be released on November 13, and you can now pre-order your copy through the Microsoft Store.
