Tonight .. the launch of the conference “Towards a better future for Dartis sport in the Arab world”


Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports and Head of the Executive Office of the Arab Ministers of Youth and Sports, will inaugurate today, Wednesday, at 18:00 local time in Cairo, “Online via the Zoom app”, the first international darts conference entitled (Towards a Better Future for Dartis Sport in the Arab World .. Challenges and Opportunities)) which is organized by the Egyptian Darts Federation under the honorary presidency of Sheikh Talal Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah.

This happens with the participation of 19 Arab countries, namely Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania, Sudan, Djibouti, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Sultanate of Oman, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan , Syria, Palestine and Lebanon, as well as representatives of the authorities concerned, including Abdel Moneim Al-Shairi, Secretary General of the Federation of Olympic Sports and the Arab League. Arab nationalist Saud Abdel Aziz and Bill Hatter, President of the International Federation of Darts and Media, Muhammad Jamil Abdel Qader, President of the Arab Federation of Sports Press, Gianni Merlo, President of the International Federation of Sports Press, Dr. Muhammad Subhi Hassanein, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Sports Federation of Universities, and Dr. Hisham Al-Jyoushi, Director General of the Olympic Federation, and Dr. Private Egyptian.

For his part, Dr. Yahya Abdel Qader, president of the Egyptian Darts Federation and chairman of the conference, said the conference’s calling coincides with the Egyptian celebrations of the anniversary of the glorious victories of the October war, which were the border between the years of glory broken thanks to the sacrifices of the Egyptian army and the solidarity of the Arab nation.

He added that the goal of the conference is to spread the culture of darts sport practice in the Arab world and thus encourage Arab countries to establish national gaming federations in addition to existing federations in some countries in preparation for the inauguration of the Arab Federation of the darts soon.

The conference chairman explained that the sponsorship of the conference by Dr Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, has been the main reason for the interest of most Arab countries to participate in its activities, especially since the Federation Egyptian was established by the minister, and also provided him with all forms of support to increase and implement his activities in Egypt by organizing Many local tournaments and hosting international tournaments, especially since Minister Park made a formal request to Egypt for host the 2025 Darts World Cup.

Regarding the proceedings of the conference, Joudeh Abu Al-Nour, speaker of the conference and member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Darts Federation, said that the honorary chair of the conference of Sheikh Talal Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah – the figure of prominent sports administration in the world, in Asia and in the Arabs – is a qualitative leap in the course of the game and its success in the Arab world.

He added that the conference is presented by Algerian journalist Leila Ben Farhat and consists of an opening session interspersed with a speech by Dr. Ashraf Sobhi and speeches by senior guests. The second session will be held under the title ¬ęSport of Dartis Science and Art. The sessions will be moderated by the Moroccan journalist Mourad Al-Mutawakel and the Tunisian journalist Tawfiq Al-Obeidi.

“Abu Al-Nour” indicated that the conference has seen a turnout of around 200 people interested in the sport of Dartis in the Arab world and that he will give them a certificate of participation in appreciation for their contribution to the success of the conference.

Dr Hazem Al-Roubi, the conference director, explained that the great interaction from Arab countries to attend the conference reflects the urgent need to pay attention to gaming in the Arab world and the need to establish national federations for them in the Arab world.
