The leader of the political party Fuerza Alternativa Revolucionaria del Común, Rodrigo Londoño – known as Timochenko – asked this Saturday, 19 January 2019, the president, Iván Duque, to hold the conversation of peace with the ELN.

In an open letter, Londoño warned Duque that ending the dialogue with the National Liberation Army (ELN) can lead to more acts of violence such as last Thursday in Bogota, which resulted in 21 deaths and 68 wounded.

"We avoid doing it Colombia, their children, their mothers and fathers. Do not plunge the total war "said Timochenko.

In the letter, Londoño added that to end the rapprochement between government and guerrillas, "the massive multiplication of those horrors for years", offering the help of the FARC political party to achieve peace.
