[한국금융신문=정은경 기자] With the government ahead of the announcement on the frequency reassignment price, the three mobile telecommunications companies have decided to request the Ministry of Science and ICT (Ministry of Science and Technology) to disclose information on the method of calculating the frequency. price.

In a joint press release on the 12th, the three mobile telecommunications companies, SK Telecom, KT and LG Uplus, said: “The Ministry of Science and ICT should clearly disclose the basis and method of calculating the competitive minimum price and the detailed calculation of the reallocation frequency during a new frequency auction held in the last 10 years. I want it, ”he insisted.

He then asked: “We need to explain in a clear and transparent way the context and why this method of calculating the reassignment price is different from the principles stipulated in the Radio Act or the standard up to now.”

Previously, the three mobile telecommunications companies had already delivered a reasonable calculation method based on related regulations, including expert opinion, to the Ministry of Science and Technology several times. However, their position is that the government is pursuing the self-allocation costing without any consultation with the mobile operator.

The three mobile operators announced that they have decided to request this disclosure of information, stating: “It is not compliant with relevant regulations to present a completely different pricing method at the time when the frequency reallocation application is about to be applied. , and it’s a major problem in the process. “

This is because if the Ministry of Science and ICT intends to impose new conditions for reassignment under the Radio Frequency Law, it is specified to notify users of the frequency in advance one year before the end of the period of use.

Upon receipt of an information disclosure request, the commissioned administrative agency must respond to the complainant within 10 days of the disclosure.

The three mobile operators say it is difficult to accept the new compensation method that the government-led research team has unilaterally reviewed without any reflection on the operators’ views expressed so far.

They said: “It is to ensure the fair conduct of the work of the Ministry of Science and ICT to disclose the method of calculating past frequency bands.” There is a need. ”

On the 17th the Ministry of Science and ICT will hold an open discussion on the method of calculating the frequency reallocation.
