Christmas Day was a day of celebration for the XRP community and also for eToro, a multi-asset fintech brokerage firm. On December 25th, eToro announced that XRP will now be supported on the eToro platform, a news that users have been waiting for a long time.

eToro has also attracted the XRP community by revealing that for a limited amount no fees will be charged for the creation of the XRP portfolio and the transfer of XRP coins. In an official blog post, eToro stated:

"The current minimum transfer amount is 133 XRP. Coin transfer is available to Gold and above users in countries where the eToro Portfolio is available (to check local availability, refer to your app store). "

The company has also informed users that the services are available only to users who have deposited their assets through a bank transfer with the possibility of adding other payment methods soon.

eToro also said that there are several advantages in choosing the platform, with the emphasis placed on licensing, regulation, simplicity and security of funds. One of eToro's main points of discussion is the fact that it is one of the first companies in the world to obtain a license for cryptographic resources. The organization has gone ahead and has offered functionality to customers, which are meant to increase the user base. Some of the features outlined in eToro are:

"The first 25K users to open an XRP portfolio will receive the wallet for free – and will not be required to pay the cost of the XRP portfolio which is 45 XRP * Coin transfer is available to Gold and above users in countries where the portfolio is available The promotion will be valid until 31.1.2019 "

The addition of XRP did not happen without incident on social media platforms, with many outraged users attacking the company's approach to the whole process. Tiffany Hayden, a prominent member of the XRP community, tweeted:

"Social pressure is my only superpower and it did not work. @ EToro does not worry, they do not have your $ XRP, and they're lying to you or find a way to remove yourself from their platform or accept the consequences. # 39; It is nothing I can do.I'm sorry.Ethoro died for me. "

Other members of the XRP community have joined Tiffany Hayden, with Luke Roberts, an XRP fan who said:

"Dear @eToro @eToroService – as we thank you for creating an e-wallet, #XRPcommunity purchased real #XRP coins using our $ debit / credit cards We can not withdraw our coins if we do not send a bank transfer, making this wallet and all useless initial offers !! "
