The wave of protest against the economic situation in the Arab world has spread. Several hundred Lebanese protested during the Sunday demonstration, shouting slogans denouncing the authorities' inability to control the high cost of living.

According to Lebanese sources, protesters threw stones at the security forces, who responded with tear gas.

In the last two weeks large demonstrations have been organized in many Arab countries, some inspired by the "yellow jackets" protests in France.

Protesters took to the streets in Jordan, Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq and Sudan, where 22 people were killed in clashes with security forces.
