The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Anwar Gargash, spoke on Thursday of the possibility that Syria will return to the League of Arab States during the next period.
"The opening of contacts with Damascus will not leave the arena open to Iranian interference," said Gargash.
"Everyone is convinced that there is a political path to solving the Syrian crisis," he said.

Today, December 27, the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates was inaugurated in Damascus, five years after the withdrawal of the ambassadors of both countries.
The ceremony was attended by Councilor Abdul Hakim Ibrahim Yousef Al Nuaimi, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus, the administrative officer of the Embassy Hussein Abdullah Al Balushi, together with a a number of ambassadors in Damascus and a representative of the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants.
