Bitcoin's price retreated below $ 4000 for the first time this week to trade close to $ 3,750 during the first Thursday trading period.
The price of the bitcoin, the world's first and most important cryptocurrency by market value, was traded at $ 4.036 (Bitstamp) at 7:00 UTC on Thursday, before a precipitous fall which led to a decline of nearly $ 300 in less than 30 minutes.
At the time of printing, the price of the bitcoin is trading at $ 3,782. The decline also impacted a larger sell-off in the cryptocurrency market, canceling nearly $ 10 billion in a 3-hour period.
