In a surprising twist to its normal day-to-day duties promoting litecoin (LTC) cryptocurrency, the Litecoin Foundation acted as an executive producer for a new horror film.

According to its description on Apple iTunes, the film sets off three friends on their way to a heavy metal concert that ultimately sees them embroiled in frightening scams involving satanic killers. We don’t want to reveal too much, but here’s a more complete storyline description from Paste.

Johnny Knoxville (who co-created “Jackass” and starred in such films as “Men in Black II” and “The Dukes of Hazard”, among others) plays the “fire and brimstone” preaching father of one of the characters.

The film was released on April 10 and stars Alexandra Daddario, Amy Forsyth, Maddie Hasson, Keean Johnson, Logan Miller and Austin Swift, along with Knoxville. Marc Meyers (“My Friend Dahmer,” “How He Fell in Love”) directed the film.

While it seems a little odd that a cryptocurrency-centric organization is linked to a horror movie, the Litecoin Foundation has previously reached deals to show the LTC logo in the UFC Octagon and Miami Dolphins games, all as part of the its efforts to promote the payment network,
