Coming from an academic background, the president of Talenta, Edward Du, who is a director at the prestigious German center Tsinghua Research Institute, has always dreamed of having the opportunity to share his passion with blockchain technology with other like-minded academics. This collaboration with distinguished professors of CityU is one of his many efforts to make blockchain education more accessible to everyone.

To be hosted in the weekend from 12 to January 13, 2019, the rally will take place in the heart of the university along Tat Chee Avenue a Kowloon, Hong Kong. Well aware of the unpopular mercenary approaches that have plagued the blockchain market in the last year, the Symposium on Blockchain Technology and Applications (SBTA) is resolved in the injection of a new approach in cultivating the obscure blockchain mavens. The conference will focus strictly on technological, economic, innovation and blockchain applications, avoiding the clear marketing and promotional spots that are often associated with blockchain events.

CityU has shown a lot of love for blockchain technology since the beginning, with a joint research center set up in Chengdu and many others in the pipeline. This symposium aims to serve as a platform for blockchain enthusiasts from both ends of the spectrum to meet and socialize, with the goal of triggering real connections and fruitful conversations for all.
