The Chang’e 5 spacecraft, recently launched by the Chinese National Space Administration, planted a Chinese flag on the moon.

On November 24, the Chinese National Space Administration launched an unmanned spacecraft called “Chang’e 5” to collect samples from the Moon.

The spacecraft successfully landed on the Moon’s longitude 51.8 degrees west and latitude 43.1 degrees north on December 1. The Chang’e 5 probe that left the Moon to come to Earth with the collected soil samples, It is reported that the 5-star Chinese red flag was planted on the moon. In the photo taken by the camera on the spacecraft and shared by the China National Space Administration, the Chinese flag was seen stationary on the windless surface of the Moon.

If the probe successfully carries the collected samples, it will be the third country that has brought an example from the moon to Earth after China, the United States and the Soviet Union.

With the aforementioned mission of Chang’e 5, it is expected to illuminate unknown issues about the Moon and the Sun.
