The Arab summit in Beirut and Aoun requires the return of displaced persons

The Arab Economic and Social Development Summit, held in Beirut, began its fourth session on Sunday at Seaside Arena.

This is the first time that Beirut hosted this summit, in the presence of Qatar Emir Tamim Bin Hamad, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ben Abdel Aziz and the participation of 20 Arab countries.

Lebanese President Michel Aoun opened the conference, calling on Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan to address the previous session of the summit.

The Lebanese president said in a speech that this summit:

To meet the economic and development challenges of our countries, we hope that our efforts will successfully meet the aspirations of our peoples and the hopes of future generations to take a step forward towards the progress and prosperity of the Arab world.

"Our region has been hit by an earthquake in mobile wars, but today we are not here to discuss its causes, perpetrators and instigators, but to address its devastating consequences for the economy and growth of our countries. , who brought us back ".

He said: "We hope this summit will help to activate activities with existing projects".

He spoke of the common Arab market that Lebanon calls on the international community to exert its efforts and provide the conditions for the safe return of Syrians to their countries, especially in safe areas, without linking it to achieving a political solution. "We worked on a draft final declaration issued by the Summit the Crisis of displaced persons and refugees because of their impact on the economy and on the social fabric".

He called for the establishment of an Arab bank for reconstruction and development to help the Arab countries interested in promoting them and invited Arab banks and institutions to discuss and develop these mechanisms.

The summit agenda includes 17 procedural and substantive elements concerning development work in Arab countries, the most important of which concerns Arab food security and deals with cooperation between different countries to provide food to imported regions from the outside of the Arab world through internal Arab capacities. There is a clause on the Arab strategy for sustainable energy, and there is a voice on the Arab common market for electricity.
