The Arab League general secretary Ahmed Aboul Gheit announced that 29 draft resolutions were adopted during the joint meeting of foreign ministers and ministers interested in the Economic and Social Council, preparatory to the Arab Development Summit and presented at the summit meeting will be held next Sunday in Beirut.

For his part, the foreign minister of the Lebanese transitional government, Gebran Bassil, said that "the 29 points were approved by consensus of the foreign ministers and the Arab economy by consensus, while the theme of the final declaration remains and it will work in the next two days ".

Basil stressed that "there is a consensus to solve the economic and social problems experienced by the Arab countries, which are common problems".

"We can not attend a conference on the social economy and ignore the most important humanitarian crisis, even if it was a political crisis at the beginning, but its economic and social consequences are great and we can not think of solutions in the face of it. to a serious humanitarian crisis.

"We put the question of women on our side because there can not be development in their absence because it is half of society and can not remain under men, and also on the level of energy and the creation of a common market, I think the picture be good to work with us ".

"We will push internally and externally to create a consensus on the return of Syria to the Arab League".

"I do not think anyone denies the influence of Western countries on the Arab world, and we hope that Arab countries make decisions that are in the interest of our Arab meeting," he said.

Regarding the participation of Lebanon in the reconstruction of Syria, Basil asked "who can prevent the Lebanese from participating in the reconstruction of Syria".

"The result is the massacre of our people and the displacement and displacement of millions of people, and we see them wandering, lost and moved to the corners of the earth, as if they took a handful of earth (and gold) and scattered on the ground. which hit the Syrian (and the Yemeni) and the Lebanese, Palestinian and Iraqi (and Libyan) and others. "

He believed that this had happened "under occupation and slavery, it is allowed to obtain also under the independence and the national government".

"What national rule is this that favors the foreigner over the citizen and shows the stranger to the relative and abandons his people to replace him with another?"

For his part, the general secretary of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, said: "The summoning of this summit takes place at a very important moment, since the question of development has become its economic, social, cultural, environmental dimension. and of another kind.

He stressed that "the enormous challenges facing the Arab region in terms of development requires us all to crystallize new visions and propose innovative ideas that do not only concern the present and the concerns, but also focus on the future and its rapid developments. in technology, science, economics and production and artificial intelligence, Changing the equations of production and changing the revolution transforms us radically into a real revolution called by some as the fourth industrial revolution. Cooperation with these rapid developments represents a challenge for the Arab region , we must face it and prepare for Ziath ".

Aboul Gheit stressed that "every Arab country can not individually tackle these enormous economic and scientific developments: economic integration and policy coordination in various aspects of development and the various productive activities have become a necessity, not a luxury" .
