Steem added to the status of the DApps listings

The social blockchain platform Steem, home of the Steemit social network, has been added to the dApp tracking site (decentralized application) stateofthedapps.com and now sits proudly next to Ethereum, EOS and POA, on the site's "Platform ranking" page.

Steep dApp entries are still compiled so that the main dApps are not yet in the correct order. According to Steem's website, the social blogging platform Steemit is the most used dApp by Steem, followed by its mobile application eSteem, the decentralized video platform DTube, the Utopian funding platform and the collectible game Steem Monsters.

It is interesting to note that Steemit's social platform enters the charts with almost 5,000 users in the last 24 hours, beaten only by a more quoted dApp and which is BingoBet based on the EOS blockchain. Despite the activity on Ethereum's blockchain in recent years, its poor rating for the dApp user rankings may be a sign of difficulty for the blockchain. Although promised updates from Ethereum could solve scalability issues that are discouraging dApp developers at this time.

1 million transactions for Steem

Steem, on its website, reports over 1 million transactions in the last 24 hours, with Ethereum and Bitcoin blockchains processing half of that number. On October 21, 2018, EOS has processed 5.4 million transactions, Ethereum 1.3 million and another emerging blockchain platform, Waves, has achieved 6.1 million transactions.

Steem's addition to State of the DApps is the result of Steemian Rosanne Dubbeld's tweet on the list website, just two days ago.

dApp Adoption is a critical indicator

State of the DApps says it is working with Steem Apps webmaster to populate live statistics for Steem's main applications. According to Steem Projects there are currently 445 applications created using Steem's blockchain. Many of these are utilities with about ten games, nine trading apps and five portfolios.

State of the DApps is still missing a platform. The competitor DappRadar already lists dApp TRON, but does not list Steem. TRON's busiest dApp, TRONbet, distributes almost 2 million TRON transactions per day. The second most popular TRON Shrimp Farm is affecting 17,000 transactions a day.

The number of dApps, users and transactions are important indicators of the feasibility and ability to scale blockchain platforms. Without access to private blockchain statistics, such as platforms that are implemented in banking or commercial systems, they are a useful industry metric.

The success of blockchain as a technology is the key to the adoption of cryptocurrency. And coin prices are influenced by the deployment of their native chains.
