  • Founder and CEO of OMNI, Thomas McLeod, who gave an overview of the vision of OMNI and how together with his team they have integrated the XRP on their platform.
  • Senior Vice President of Xpring, Ethan Beard discussed Future plans of Xpring to help developers and companies work on XRP Ledger and Interledger Protocol.
  • And finally, the head of the XRP markets, Miguel Vias, who talks about how the new cases of use for the digital asset affect the broader global liquidity of XRP.

Tokenize digital resources

Ethan explained that the first use case on which his team focused on Ripple's point of view concerns cross-border remittances and other possible cases of use for XRP and XRP Ledger. He stressed that Xpring is an initiative that focuses on new use cases for XRP and XRP Ledger outside of cross-border payments.

He also explained that although the company is not focused only on XRP payments, they are also looking at the tokenisation of real-world resources.

Ethan said; "There are a lot of goods that people buy and that are actually quite liquid, they're pretty hard to transfer and with their tokenizing assignment to these things, you can make them more liquid and much easier to transfer."

He gave the game as a similar example to non-tokenized online resources, so a people spend a lot of money buying virtual goods inside their favorite games, but these vouchers remain locked in the games.

By taking care of these virtual assets and building a platform in which they can be traded within a market, companies can effectively create the level of trust needed and facilitate the transfer.

"It starts to move things like games from being based on a sort of freedom to play and sell virtual goods almost like a market or a market driven economy."

He also mentioned how, OMNI, facilitates the "old game" PC and "burns a bunch of electricity", allowing people to sell stuff on the platform and actually earn XRP.
