Report: Pistons reaches agreement with LiAngelo Ball

LiAngelo Ball entered the 2018 draft but was not selected.

DETROIT (AP) – The Detroit Pistons have agreed to an unsecured deal with LiAngelo Ball, according to a person familiar with the deal.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity on Wednesday evening because the deal was not announced.

Ball is the brother of the New Orleans Pelicans guard Lonzo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets lottery chooses LaMelo Ball. LiAngelo Ball spent some time training for the G League Oklahoma City Blue this year.

Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium first signaled the deal with the Pistons.

LiAngelo Ball started the 2017-18 college season with UCLA but was embroiled in a shoplifting scandal while on a team trip to China. UCLA suspended him and he ended up dropping out of school. He and LaMelo have signed with a Lithuanian club.
